Plant Species Database

Archival Notice

This is an archive page that is no longer being updated. It may contain outdated information and links may no longer function as originally intended.

Similar to the databases created for mitochondrial DNA, a database can also be developed for species of plants. For example, the Connecticut State Forensic Science Laboratory is developing a marijuana database that will allow scientists to determine a random match frequency (how common a species of marijuana plant is compared to unrelated drug cases).
