DNA Profile Matches (nDNA only)

A match is noted in the report anytime the genetic profile of the evidentiary sample is the same as that of the known sample. Statements of a profile match must be accompanied by a probability statement indicating the statistical strength of the match. This can also be described as the random match probability (RMP). The RMP describes the probability of selecting an unrelated individual, at random, who possesses the same DNA profile found in the evidence sample.
