Introduction to Evidence Locations

Given the inherent complexity of victimization and crime scene environments, prosecutors must be aware of both the obvious and obscure locations in which various types of evidence may be found. It is often the evidence that is not directly observable that can have the greatest impact on a case. Prosecutors must be familiar with the protocols and training law enforcement receives regarding DNA to be confident that the crime scene was properly managed. These factors directly impact the ability to successfully carry the burden of proof in a criminal prosecution.

In this topic you will learn about potential sources and locations of evidence.
