Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) Process

PCR is a 3 step process:

1. Denature (or separate)
2. Bind         
3. Extend       

Each round of PCR doubles the amount of DNA.  These steps are repeated approximately 30 times resulting in billions of copies of DNA.
