If an attorney plans to call the forensic scientist as an expert witness in a hearing, trial or other court proceeding, the expert will usually receive a subpoena indicating the date(s) when the expert's testimony will be expected to take place in the proceeding. However, this documentation is rarely specific and is often subject to change.
