There may be an occasion in which the prosecutor does not understand the defense challenge, perhaps due to its technical nature, let alone how to rebut it. First, remember the jury is probably just as confused. Second, ask the witness to explain the technical issues raised and why that issue is not a concern generally or in the case at hand.
