Multiple Discipline Analysis

In addition to time and effort investment, the possibility exists for evidence to require analysis by multiple disciplines. If the outsourcing laboratory is only capable of DNA analysis, the evidence must be screened by latent prints, firearms and any other required sections before leaving the governmental laboratory. This adds significantly to the resource investment required by the originating laboratory.
