All 50 states, the District of Columbia, and all Federal jurisdictions now require certain classes of people convicted of a crime to provide a biological sample for DNA databasing. Each jurisdiction's statute determines whether a person convicted of an offense will be required to submit a biological sample for DNA databasing.
