• Designate a secure area in close proximity to the scene for biohazardous trash and equipment
• Use protective gear to prevent exposure to biohazardous materials and to prevent the contamination of evidence
• Clean re-usable or dispose of single-use tools and equipment between evidence collections
• Utilize single-use equipment when collecting body fluids
