Rigorous challenges have resulted in standards for the process of DNA analysis and the admissibility of DNA evidence. Rather than refuting the scientific basis for DNA analysis, lawyers and judges now find themselves in admissibility hearings delving into issues such as contamination, quality assurance, and Fourth Amendment protections.
