Discovery in DNA cases can be technical, complex, and time consuming. Given the intricacies of discovery requests in DNA cases, prosecutors must establish a collaborative plan of action or protocol between a prosecution office and the typing laboratory to ensure discovery responses are timely, consistent, and uniform, with minimal intrusion on the laboratory.
