Investigators should accurately and thoroughly document evidence under their control.
Descriptions of evidence include the following:
- Type of item.
- Size of item.
- Manufacturer's markings or serial numbers.
- Noticeable damage or alteration to the item.
- Unusual stains.
- Unusual markings.
