NIJ FY22 Research and Evaluation on the Administration of Justice: Diversion and Restorative Justice
With this solicitation, NIJ seeks proposals for rigorous research and evaluation projects examining the impact of court tools, practices, and policies on the administration of justice and public safety in state, local, and tribal jurisdictions. The two research priorities for this FY2022 solicitation are:
NIJ FY22 National Juvenile Justice Data Analysis Program
With this solicitation, NIJ, in collaboration with the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP), seeks proposals for funding to support and enhance the National Juvenile Justice Data Analysis Program (NJJDAP). The NJJDAP produces vital statistical information to the field regarding juvenile risk behaviors, juvenile victimization, juvenile offending, and the juvenile justice system’s response to law-violating behavior.
NIJ FY22 Research and Evaluation on Desistance from Crime
With this solicitation, NIJ seeks proposals for rigorous evaluations of desistance-based interventions to advance understanding of strategies that might aid in the process of desistance, including programs targeting intimate partner violence. This may include proposals to expand prior evaluation efforts to extend follow-up periods.
NIJ FY22 Research on Juvenile Justice Topics
With this solicitation, NIJ, in collaboration with the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, seeks proposals for rigorous research and evaluation projects that inform policy and practice in the field of juvenile justice.
NIJ FY22 Research and Evaluation of Services for Victims of Crime
In collaboration with the Office for Victims of Crime, NIJ seeks applications for rigorous research and evaluation projects in three categories: 1) Evaluation of Programs that Provide Services for Victims of Crime; 2) Research on Supporting Victims of Community Violence; and 3) Financial Costs of Crime Victimization.
NIJ FY22 Racial and Ethnic Disparities in the Justice System: A Study of Existing Evidence and Public Policy Implications
With this solicitation, NIJ seeks investigator-initiated proposals to conduct a comprehensive evidence-based analysis of existing evidence to examine how observed racial and ethnic disparities in the justice system might be reduced through public policy. NIJ anticipates making one award.
NIJ FY22 Research and Evaluation on Violence Against Women
NIJ FY22 Research and Development in Forensic Sciences for Criminal Justice Purposes
NIJ FY22 Research and Evaluation on School Safety
With this solicitation, NIJ seeks proposals for rigorous research and evaluation projects to: 1) study the root causes and consequences of school violence and 2) examine the impact and effectiveness of awards made under the STOP School Violence Act purpose areas.
NIJ FY22 Research and Evaluation on Hate Crimes
With this solicitation, NIJ seeks proposals for rigorous research and evaluation projects that inform efforts to prevent and combat hate crimes and their effects. Though applications may cover a range of topics, NIJ is particularly interested in funding research to: (1) understand and prevent hate crime offending and reoffending, (2) identify strategies that improve the reporting, investigating, and prosecuting of hate crimes, (3) address the needs of victims of hate crimes and their communities.
NIJ FY22 Research and Evaluation on Domestic Radicalization and Violent Extremism
NIJ FY22 Research and Evaluation on Trafficking in Persons
With this solicitation, NIJ continues to build upon its research and evaluation efforts to better understand, prevent, and respond to trafficking in persons in the United States. Applicants should propose research and evaluation projects that — first and foremost — have clear implications for criminal justice policy and practice in the United States.
NIJ FY22 Youth Mentoring Research and Evaluation
With this solicitation, NIJ seeks applications for rigorous youth mentoring research and evaluation projects to address one or more of the following priority areas: (1) increasing the capacity for achieving broad, population-level impacts; (2) understanding how mentoring can advance change mechanisms promoting positive youth development; (3) examining program participation long-term effects; and (4) optimizing program effectiveness through iterative cycles of development paired with rigorous evaluation feedback.
