NIJ hosts the annual Forensic Science Research and Development Symposium so that you can learn about NIJ-funded research across a variety of forensic science areas.
The NIJ Forensic Research and Development program funds basic or applied projects that will increase the body of knowledge to guide and inform forensic science policy and practice, or result in the production of useful materials, devices, systems, or methods that have the potential for forensic application.
This session includes:
- NSF and NIJ —A Partnership to Advance Fundamental Research in Forensic Science
- The Transformation of Data Collection Procedures for Forensic Skeletal Material: Evaluating Osteometric Data in Forensic Anthropology
- A Multidisciplinary Validation Study of Nonhuman Animal Models for Human Decomposition Research
- Postmortem Changes and Translocation of Bacterial Community Structure and Function for use in Criminal Investigations
