Abstract
Highlights are reported on the 2018 National AMBER Alert Symposium, in which partners from the United States, Mexico, and Canada gathered to learn, collaborate, and honor surviving families. Activities are also reported for the 2018 National Missing Children's Day on May 23, which was first proclaimed by President Ronald Reagan in 1985 to honor the memories of children still missing. AMBER Alert activities reported for Indian Country include the display on National Missing Children's Day of a work of art depicting a sorrowful Native American girl holding a single eagle feather. The painting by New Mexico artist Kathleen Piccione is titled "Never Forgotten." Also reported is President Trump's signing of a bill to improve AMBER Alert on tribal lands. This issue's section on "AMBER Alert on the Front Lines" reports on how Washington State residents responded to an AMBER Alert to help rescue a young boy taken illegally by a non-custodial parent. The "AMBER Alert Briefs" section of this issue reports on recent events related to AMBER Alert management personnel and rescue-related activities throughout the United States. The section on "AMBER Alert International" focuses on AMBER Alert activities in Peru, Lithuania, Canada, Europe, and Spain.
