The Expansion of the Crimestat Spatial Statistics Program to Incorporate Spatial Regression, Space-Time Clustering, Bayesian Journey to Crime Modeling, Incident Detection Methodology and Sparse Matrix
Note:
This awardee has received supplemental funding. This award detail page includes information about both the original award and supplemental awards.
This program will continue to revise the CrimeStat which will incorporate incident detection routines that can be analyzed at different levels of spatial aggregation.

Ned Levine & Associates originally received funding for the development of a new version of the software CrimeStat. The new version of CrimeStat will provide law enforcement with more tools for identifying and predicting problem areas for crime. The new version of the software will also provide researchers new tools that are not available in another software package. This continued effort will also provide the software in a format that will allow law enforcement agencies a better opportunity to integrate CrimeStat into their workflow. The original funding also created these 'building blocks' to be implemented directly into law enforcement computer systems to allow for a wide range of spatial analysis. Ned Levine & Associates are now seeking continuation funding to NIJ grant 2005-IJ-CX-K037.
This continuation funding will be used to perform final programming and improvements to the software needed for completion. Further improvements will be made to existing routines as well. nca/ncf
