Grant Opportunities for Medical Examiner Facilities
This training was presented as a part of the National Center on Forensics conference at George Mason University on August 8th, 2023. In this session, Physical Scientist for the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) Dr. Jennifer Love, Director of the Office of Investigative and Forensic Scientists at the National Institute of Justice Lucas Zarwell, and Special Assistant to the Director of the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) Thurston Bryant discuss the role both NIJ and BJA serve in the forensic science field, including funding opportunities, available grants, and specific medical examiner and pathologist programs. It is important for those in the medical examiner field to know what is available to them education wise and this presentation highlights a variety of learning opportunities the Department of Justice can offer.
