Abstract

The protocol evaluates performance and other requirements protective gloves should meet to satisfy the needs of law enforcement and corrections agencies. Purchasers of protective gloves can use the protocol's test methods to evaluate whether a particular type of protective glove meets their essential requirements, or they may have the tests conducted on their behalf by a qualified testing laboratory. The National Institute of Justice, through its National Law Enforcement and Corrections Technology Center, conducts periodic comparative evaluations of products in accordance with the test methods outlined in the test protocol and publishes the data. Test Protocol 99-114 identifies applicable documents, testing requirements and methods, quality assurance, workmanship, labeling, and certification.
