This report lists the funding awards made by the National Institute of Justice in fiscal year 1993 in fulfillment of its mandate to support research, development, evaluation, training, and information dissemination to help State and local criminal justice agencies prevent and control crime.
Abstract
NIJ's 1993 Program Plan outlining research and evaluation for the next 5 years set forth the following six broad goals: (1) reduce violent crimes and their consequences; (2) reduce drug-related crimes; (3) reduce the consequences of crime for individuals, households, organizations, and communities; (4) develop household, school, business, workplace, and community crime prevention programs; (5) improve the effectiveness of criminal justice system responses to offenses, offending, and victimization; and (6) develop and evaluate information for criminal justice responses and the use of new technologies. The fiscal year 1993 awards are listed alphabetically within each category. Each listing includes the award number, the name of the grantee or contractor, the program director or principal investigator, and the dollar amount applicable to fiscal year 1993.
