Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2009, $500,000)
For the purpose of expediting cold case review for this grant, IMPD has formed a Cold Case Team consisting of Homicide/Cold Case Unit detectives, two civilian investigators (retired homicide detectives), one grant funded research analyst, the Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Services Agency (Accredited Laboratory); the Marion County Prosecutor's Office; Crime Control Research Inc. To augment IMPD's cold case unit for the duration of this grant project, a private consulting research firm that will along with the Indiana Intelligence Fusion Center (a multi-agency intelligence gathering and analysis unit); and the IMPD grant management unit.
