Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2009, $3,000,000)
The Forensic Science and Evaluation Laboratory of the Midwest Forensic Resource Center will examine, test, and evaluate methods of forensic training, forensic analysis, and crime laboratory business information management. The overall goal of this program is to help crime labs improve their effectiveness and efficiency in the criminal justice system in an era of decreasing public funding, increasing demands for crime laboratory efficiency, new requests for legal and economic accountability, and new demands for scientific validity and effectiveness.
