The is a continuation of the development of requirements and standards for less lethal weapons and associated technologies through the International Law Enforcement Forum (ILEF). The first part of this effort will be to develop a framework for the development of less lethal technologies for law enforcement. The framework will leverage existing processes used by a variety of US law enforcement agencies, US DoD, the UK Ministry of Defense, the UK Home Office, and a variety of international law enforcement agencies. The second part of the effort will bring together a select group of expert practitioners to develop and discuss less-lethal issues. This part of the effort will provide for the planning and coordination of the ILEF VI workshop. The forum provides the opportunity for professional discussion by practitioners on the development of new concepts, operational analysis and operational requirements in the area of minimal force options and less-lethal technologies. It provides and fosters subject matter expertise in operations, policy, technical evaluation, testing, training, human/medical effects, and legal implications.
