Cross Language Retrieval for Arabic Texts

This continuation proposes to provide a demonstration system of the Arabic Information Retrieval capability for the Department of Justice. Initially funded in 2003 under award number 2003-IJ-CX-K018, the AIR system will create and index a dynamic collection of texts from the Al Jazeera website. The delivered demonstration system will allow users to search the data collection using English queries, and retrieve Arabic documents and English translations of those documents in response.
