2. Section 223(a)(13), provides that juveniles have no contact ì
with incarcerated adults including inmate trustees or with direct ì
care staff of an adult jail or lockup.
3. Section 223(a)(14), provides that no juvenile shall be ì
confined in any jail or lockup for adults.
4. Section 223(a)(23), provides that States address efforts to ì
reduce the number of minority youth in secure facilities where ì
the proportion of minority youth in confinement exceeds the ì
proportion such groups represent in the general population.
Under the JJDP Act, each participating local, public or private ì
non-profit agency in the State must provide services that assist ì
their applicable jurisdiction and the State to move toward full ì
compliance with the JJDP Act core requirements and becoming a ì
full participant in the Office of Juvenile Justice and ì
Delinquency Prevention's Formula Grant Program.
