The National Institute of Justice is pleased to invite undergraduate and graduate student travel scholarship applications for the 2024 NIJ National Research Conference. The 2024 conference will take place September 16-18, 2024, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.NIJwillsupportthetravelcostsforupto25students,including air and ground transportation, a three-night hotel stay, and federal per diem.
The theme of NIJ’s Research Conference is “Advancing Justice Through Science. ”Our goal is to bring researchers, practitioners, and policymakers together to discuss the latest research evidence and how it can be implemented to promote safety, equity, and justice for all. The conference offers attendees an opportunity to learn about research findings across a wide array of topics relating to public safety and justice system policies and practices.
NIJ encourages applications from students of all backgrounds. Those submitting applications should consider:
- Applicants must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at a U.S.-based educational institution at the time of the conference. Those graduating in Spring/Summer of 2024 are NOT eligible.
- Submissions are due Monday April 22, 2024,at11:59p.m.ET.
- Only applications received by this deadline will be considered.
- Scholarship recipients are expected to attend the entire conference.
- Students are required to submit an online application and a 500-word statement of interest for attending the conference (see below).
Final decisions will be made by Monday May 6, 2024, with notifications made no later than Monday May 20, 2024.
