This Software Test Report (STR) is a record of the qualification testing of the Computer Software Configuration Item (CSCI) capabilities of the Minutia Deviation Tool (MDT), version 1.0 (beta), which is a software utility that aids users in designating equivalent minutia pairs across two fingerprint biometric images and calculating the pair's minutia spatial deviations.
Abstract
The MDT version being developed will be in a Beta state, unsuitable for general release, but having suitable stability for use by knowledgeable and experienced researchers. It was developed to be used as a tool to support research and analysis of contactless and contact-based fingerprint data. Overall, the MDT test results reported in the current document indicate that it passed all tests and performed without error or malfunctions. All designed capabilities were available and functioned in accordance with the Software Requirements Specification (SRS) and Software Design Description (SDD) documents for the MDT. There was no anticipated impact of the test environment on the MDT's performance. The software is designed for use on standard office computers. There were no recommended improvements from the testing. 12 figures, 6 tables, and 9 references
