This report describes the procedures that will be used to test the Minutia Deviation Tool (MDT), version 1.0, which is a prototype Computer Software Configuration Item (CSCI) (software utility) intended to aid a user in designating equivalent minutia pairs across two fingerprint biometric images and calculating the pair's minutia spatial deviation.
Abstract
MDT is intended to serve as a tool to support research and analysis of contactless and contact-based fingerprint data. The MDT version being developed will be in a Beta state, not suitable for general release but having suitable stability for use by knowledgeable and experienced researchers. This report includes descriptions of the test preparations, test cases, and test procedures of the CSCI capabilities specified in the Software Requirements Specification (SRS) and Software Design Description (SDD) documents. Test descriptions encompass the display of fingerprint images and minutiae, the calculation of minutiae deviations, exporting of logs and EBTS files, and filter minutia deviations. Tables show requirements traceability. 12 figures, 6 tables, and notes
