Abstract
As forensic DNA techniques become more widespread and complex, key questions arise about how DNA data are to be interpreted statistically. This article presents details of two NIJ-funded grants that have produced significant research in the statistical interpretation of DNA samples. This supported research has far-reaching implications for testing hypotheses using DNA evidence and expressing confidence in the conclusions reached.
