Description
At the request of the U.S. State Department, NIJ seeks proposals for an awardee to conduct research under NIJ’s Kenyan Wildlife Service (KWS) Aircraft Project. With support from the State Department, NIJ will fund a needs assessment and operational evaluation of light sport aircraft and supporting technologies to support the KWS Air Wing’s counter-poaching mission. Data and lessons learned from this assessment and evaluation will then be translated for use by U.S. law enforcement operating in analogous environments (such as rural and tribal jurisdictions) who are implementing or considering the use of low-cost aircraft to support their mission.
