With this solicitation, NIJ seeks proposals to operate a National Criminal Justice Technology Information Resource Center within the National Law Enforcement and Corrections Technology Center (NLECTC) System. This center will assist federal, State, local, and tribal law enforcement, corrections, and courts agencies in (1) identifying effective tools and technologies to meet their operational needs; and (2) adopting them into practice. This center also will administer the NIJ Standards and Testing Program as part of its larger effort to identify effective tools and technologies. The goal of this program is to ensure that the equipment bought by criminal justice agencies is safe and effective. The program (1) develops and maintains performance-testing standards for the unique equipment used by criminal justice agencies; (2) identifies tools and technologies that conform to these standards; and (3) disseminates that information. NIJ held a teleconference on April 9, 2014, from 2:30 – 3:30 p.m. eastern time for parties interested in submitting proposals for funding to host the Small, Rural, Tribal, and Border (SRTB) Regional Center within the National Law Enforcement and Corrections Technology Center (NLECTC) system (NIJ–2014-3764) and/or to operate a National Criminal Justice Technology Information Resource Center within the National Law Enforcement and Corrections Technology Centers (NLECTC) system (NIJ–2014-3731).Listen to a recording or read a transcript of the teleconference.
