City of Charleston Police Department Cold Case Task Force

This proposal seeks funding to create a Cold Case Task Force consisting of members of the Charleston Police Department Cold Case Volunteer Program, a task force Investigator, and an advisory review board consisting of experts in the fields of investigation, forensic science, law and grants management to review the case records, prior forensic testing, and legal issues to establish priorities for analysis and investigation. Forty-four homicides and fifty-eight sexual assault cold cases have been identified with sufficient biological evidence and will benefit from DNA testing from this program.
