The goal of this project is to create an online training program that will provide law enforcement decision-makers with a convenient method of acquiring knowledge about issues surrounding the policy and practice of utilizing DNA analysis to solve crimes. NFSTC will convene a working group that includes DNA subject matter experts, legislators, crime lab directors, law enforcement officers and other relevant elected and appointed officials involved in the development and implementation of criminal justice policies. The working group will identify the key topic areas and ensure curriculum development meets the needs of this solicitation. NFSTC will receive additional subject matter support as needed from the Center for Human Identification at North Texas Health Science Center, and from the expertise of NFSTC's extensive network of contractors who audit DNA crime laboratories nationwide.
