Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2009, $142,475)
The long-term goal of the proposed research is to develop rapid, accurate and precise methods to use soil biochemistry as trace evidence. The objective of the proposed work, which is a step towards achieving the researchers ultimate goal, is to assess the effect of contrasting storage conditions on the forensic discrimination of soils and design a protocol for the analysis of soils that are kept under a range of storage conditions.
