Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2008, $450,000)
This phase of the effort will focus on the implementation of pilot tests for the Forensic Case Submission and Forensic Case
Disposition Information Exchange Package Documentation (IEPD) in coordination
with the Arizona Criminal Justice Commission (ACJC) partners and affiliates. It will work on the development of a Toxicology Case Submission IEPD in coordination with the Washington State Patrol (WSP) and lead to the implementation of pilot for the Toxicology Case Submission IEPD in coordination with the WSP partners and affiliates.
In addition an addtional task of the CSI Effect ' Fact or Fiction initiative are to develop new tools that leverage existing National Institute of Justice (NIJ)publications and to produce innovative solutions to meet the needs of the targeted audience. The hopes of this work is to reduce forensic case backlog, through testing and evaluation of tools and technologies.
