Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2007, $656,719)
The National Center for Forensic Science (NCFS, http://www.ncfs.org) is funded in part by the National Institute of Justice's (NIJ, http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/nij) and hosted by the University of Central Florida (UCF, http://www.ucf.edu) in Orlando, Florida. NCFS will provide logistical support for meetings of the Scientific Working Group on Digital Evidence (SWGDE, http://www.swgde.org) for 2008. NCFS will also provide logistical/administrative support for the Technical Working Group on Fire and Explosives (TWGFEX, http://www.twgfex.org). NCFS will coordinate approximately five (5) TWGFEX Committee meetings (2008), as well as coordinate the annual TWGFEX meeting & Symposium scheduled for March 2009. NCFS will also support TWGFEX-related projects involving the Ignitable Liquids Reference Collection (ILRC) database, a proposed explosives database (that would be part of the ILRC), and Implementation of a Searchable Ignitable Liquids Database Tool for Pyrolysis Products and Weathering.
