Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2008, $497,923)
The funds from this project will be used by the Maryland State Police Forensic Sciences Division (MSP-FSD) to expand on the 2005 Solving Cold Cases with DNA grant project award #2005-DN-BX-K037. The goal of this project will be to identify an additional fifty cold cases within the state of Maryland which have biological evidence that could be subjected to DNA testing to solve these cases or for further investigation. Funding is also being requested for case investigation expenses, state of the art evidence screening and collection equipment, and outsourcing of DNA analysis.
