Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2008, $638,080)
The purpose of these funds will be used to enhance an existing training program; the objectives of the program are aimed at providing training opportunities in the forensic discipline areas of Forensic DNA and Crime Scene and Screening of Biological Samples for Crime Scene Examiners. The NFSTC will design and develop training resources that accommodate multiple delivery methods, including traditional face-to-face and distance/blended learning. Survey results (January 2008) taken from members of the ASCLD ranked Forensic DNA and Crime Scene Examination among the more highly desirable forensic science disciplines in which training is needed.
