Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2007, $124,708)
The applicant proposes to develop a new kind of antenna technology. This will compliment work that is being done with software defined radios (SDR). In the future, when a law enforcement officer carries their radio outside of their home agency's radio footprint with an SDR, they may pass into a coverage area in a different spectrum band. After the SDR configures itself to work there, the antenna will also reconfigure itself to allow communications.
