Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2007, $437,348)
This effort will assess the utility of a nanothermite projectile in neutralizing a vehicle bomb. If successful, it will lead to the development and adoption by local law enforcement bomb squads of a new, more effective means for dealing with vehicle bombs. It is anticipated this technology will also be used by other types of bomb squads as well.
