Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2006, $40,000)
The Regents of the University of California ' University of California San Diego will use funds to support electronic crime research and development by identifying and maintaining collaboration between novel digital forensics and cyberlaw research in the academic and research community. Support includes identifying research, techniques and methods that supplement, complement, or enhance current electronic crime technology solutions (e.g. combating Internet fraud and identity theft) for state and local law enforcement. These results will be transitioned to inform the practical implementation of information forensics technologies in law enforcement operational environments.
