Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2006, $257,134)
This project will develop and optimize the necessary analytical methodologies and conduct an investigation of the trace level synthetic by-products in TATP samples as a method of determining the synthetic route and synthetic conditions used in its preparation. The analytical methodology used will focus on FTIR, Raman spectroscopy, CG and/or LC coupled with positive ion chemical ionization mass spectrometry (PICI and ESI), and Laser- Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy (LIBS).
