Evaluation of Multi-Jurisdictional Task Forces (MJTFs), Phase II: Tool Development and Production

More than 1,000 Multijurisdiction Task Forces (MJTF) have been established since the Anti-Drug Abuse Act of 1988 authorized the Bureau of Justice Assistance to provide supporting funds. While there is a near consensus on what comprises a good MJTF, there is little hard evidence of the effectiveness of MJTF activities. Seeking to provide scientific evidence of program effectiveness, the National Institute of Justice (working with BJA) funded Abt Associates to develop and test a design for evaluating MJTF performance. This project was designed to be completed in two phases. Phase I was for the development of the evaluation design and Phase II is for field tests and preparation of MJTF evaluation tools ready for dissemination.
