The University of Central Florida proposes a proof-of-concept project that utilizes a pre-existing test bed to develop new crime analysis tools that are applicable to a non-centralized distributed database environment, system security development and evaluation, along with an independent formative and summative evaluation of the Consortium project.
The Law Enforcement Data Sharing Consortium (Consortium) has been formed to design and implement a data sharing system that will allow public safety organizations to exchange appropriate information efficiently and economically in Florida. A distributed database system has been implemented in fourteen agencies through seed funds from the University of Central Florida (UCF - $100,000) and the Orange County Sheriffs Office (OCSO - $100,000) and Consortium members ($90,000).
