Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2004, $347,725)
This project is designed to investigate the how States other than Pennsylvania have dealt with issues related to prison overcrowding. Using a survey already implemented in Pennsylvania, the researchers intend to collect similar data from other States to determine whether best practices in other States can help solve the problems faced by Pennsylvania. Additional data will be collected to help inform public policy and practice and to help policymakers understand how such policies regarding prison populations have caused unintended consequences for county prisons.
