Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2004, $415,493)
The objectives of this project will be to interact with Medical Examiners, Coroners Offices, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the National Center for Missing Adults, and FBI Laboratory to develop a standardized collection kit for the non-intrusive collection of DNA from relatives of missing persons. These kits will be distributed to law enforcement agencies through out the country. Resulting profiles will be uploaded to state and national DNA missing persons databases.
