The goal of this project is to implement a "safe zone" pilot within Maryland school communities. The pilot will consist of providing direct, instant telecommunications to include encrypted wireless video and audio transmission and GPS locator capabilities between school bus drivers, administrators and security personnel along with public safety responders. The pilot will also include video surveillance systems within the schools participating in the "safe zone" concept.
