Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2002, $650,000)
The National Law Enforcement Telecommunications System (NLETS) through the Accelerated Information Sharing for Law Enforcement (AISLE) project proposes to accelerate U.S. criminal justice information sharing between local, state and federal jurisdictions by developing and validating an early Extensible Markup Language (XML) data standard, deploying XML and Web Services in a pilot with the state of Wisconsin, and disseminating results to the public safety community. The NLETS AISLE Team will lead the effort as the communications service provider, with the Wisconsin Criminal Information Bureau serving as the pilot site, and Advanced Technology Systems, Inc. providing technology development.
