Project Summary for 2002-IJ-CX-K020
This proposal fulfills a need to evaluate LTL technology for risk of penetration associated with kinetic energy munitions. It evaluates existing and already developed LTL technology and expands testing beyond current models that involve gelatin as a tissue simulant by identifying a more realistic skin simulant for testing. The evaluation will identify risks related to LTL kinetic energy munitions and will provide results that correctional and law enforcement agencies could use in determining appropriate uses and safety of LTL weapons.
