Suspects Identified, Arrested and Prosecuted in All Sites
A suspect was identified in 31 percent of the treatment group cases (in which DNA evidence was collected and analyzed) but in only 12 percent of the control group cases (in which DNA evidence was collected but not tested for at least two months). A suspect was arrested in 16 percent of the treatment group cases but in only 8 percent of the control group. Nineteen percent of the cases in the treatment group were accepted for prosecution compared with 8 percent of those in the control group.
