Forensic Intelligence in Practice
The classic investigation processes starts with the criminal event, which is followed by two simultaneous activity paths. The first, the physical evidence track, is the collection of trace evidence at a scene and the subsequent analysis of that evidence in the laboratory. the second, the information track, consists of interviews and crime analysis. Information from both those tracks comprise the case information used in the subsequent investigation, which also generate additional case information.
Adopting a forensic intelligence model does not mean discarding existing intelligence strategies. The same model is used but information flows between the the physical evidence and information tracks.
